Nicole (Janey) Ford was working a Boston PD radio channel during the Boston Marathon bombing. Her grace under pressure earned her recognition and awards from the city, and she went on to sharing her story of resilience with her brothers and sisters in the 911 community. The bombing and other tragedies she endured as a 911 dispatcher were featured in the Conrad Weaver-directed PTSD911 documentary (https://ptsd911movie.com/about-the-film/). She was a treasure to her fellow 911 dispatchers. Tragically, Nicole lost her battle with PTSD on August 2, 2023, a day before her 41st birthday. In Nicole’s honor, I’m going to post an article she wrote, so you can hear the story as she saw it.
